NUGATA CONSULTS 2 DAY VIRTUAL TRAINING ON GLOBAL GAP REQUIREMENTS, COMPLIANCE CRITERIA & CERTIFICATION

We, in Nugata Consults Limited, a GLOBALG.A.P. Licensed Farm Assurer Company in tandem with GLOBALG.A.P. in Germany held the first in our series of Virtual Training on GLOBALG.A.P. Requirements, Compliance Criteria  and  Certification on 30th & 31st October 2020. In attendance were farmer/farmer groups 4%;

agribusinesses  6%; transport/logistics companies 8%; consultants 4%;  and regulatory bodies 83% (NAQS,  NAFDAC,  SON, ARCN) which is an indication that GLOBALGAP certification is on the front burner for Nigeria. We would be continuing  with an advanced level of the training to strengthen the capacity of operators in the food value chain and regulatory bodies in preparation for GLOBALGAP certification as part of  the efforts  to diversify the economy  through agricultural exports. The sessions were  interactive and  ended with a clearer

understanding  of   roles of the various participants and the necessary structures to be in place, particularly a  strong National Technical Working Group (NTWG). Participants agreed to set up a chat group for regulators and operators  (producers, pack houses/storage facilities, agribusinesses, agri-tech companies, transport/logistics,  aggregators, exporters and other stakeholders ) to optimize the  gains of the GLOBALG.A.P. awareness training. Certificates of Participation would be  issued by GLOBALG.A.P.
